Say: "O people of the Book, let us come to a common understanding between us and between you; that we serve none except God, and that we do not set up anything with Him, and that none of us takes each other as patrons besides God." If they turn away, then say: "Bear witness that we have submitted."

De ki: "Ey kitap halkı! Hem sizin için hem de bizim için, birbirinin tıpkısı olan ilkelere gelin: Allah'tan başkasına hizmet etmeyelim; hiçbir şeyi O'na ortaklar koşmayalım; Allah'tan başka bir de ayrıca, birbirimizi efendiler edinmeyelim!" Yüz çevirirlerse, şunu söyleyin: "Teslim olduğumuza, siz de tanık olun!"[66]

De ki: "Ey Ehl-i Kitap![1] Size göre de bize göre de doğru olan ortak şu söze gelin: Allah'tan başkasına kul olmayalım. Ona hiçbir şeyi ortak koşmayalım. Birimiz, Allah'tan önce birilerini rabler edinmesin." Yüz çevirirlerse deyin ki: "Şahit olun, biz Allah'a teslim olmuş kimseleriz."

De ki: "Kitaplılar! Bizimle sizin aranızda aynı olan bir ilkeye geliniz: ALLAH'tan başkasına hizmet etmeyelim ve O'na hiçbir şeyi ortak koşmayalım, birimiz diğerini ALLAH'tan sonra Efendiler edinmesin." Kabul etmezlerse, "Şahit olun, biz Müslümanlarız!" deyin.[1]
