Musa, tayin ettiğimiz vakitte bizimle buluşmağa gelip de Rabbi ona konuşunca: "Rabbim, bana görün, sana bakayım!" dedi. (Rabbi) buyurdu ki: "Sen beni göremezsin; fakat dağa bak, eğer o yerinde durursa, sen de beni göreceksin!" Rabbi dağa görününce onu darmadağın etti ve Musa da baygın düştü. Ayılınca: "Sen yücesin, sana tevbe ettim, ben inananların ilkiyim!" dedi.

Musa, bizimle sözleştiği yere gelip Rabbi de kendisiyle konuşunca şöyle konuştu: "Rabbim, göster bana kendini, göreyim seni." Dedi: "Asla göremezsin beni. Ama şu dağa bak. Eğer o yerinde durabilirse, sen de beni görebileceksin." Rabbi dağa tecelli edince onu parça parça etti. Ve Musa baygın vaziyette yere yığıldı. Kendine gelince şöyle yakardı: "Tespih ederim o yüce varlığını, tövbe edip sana yöneldim. İman edenlerin ilkiyim ben."

Ve Musa tayin ettiğimiz vakitte tesbit ettiğimiz yere gelince Rabbi de ona konuştu: (Musa): "Rabbim! Göster bana zatını, göreyim seni!" dedi. (Allah) "Asla göremezsin beni!" dedi. "Fakat şu dağa bir bak; eğer o yerinde kalırsa, sen Beni ancak o zaman görebilirsin." Ve Rabbi dağa tecelli eder etmez, onu toza toprağa çevirdi; Musa ise baygın düştü. When Moses came at our appointed time, and his Lord spoke with him, he said, "My Lord, let me look and see You." He said, "You cannot see Me. Look at that mountain; if it stays in its place, then you can see Me." Then, his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, and this caused it to crumble. Moses fell unconscious. When he came to, he said, "Be You glorified. I repent to You, and I am the most convinced believer."

So when Moses came to Our appointed time, and his Lord spoke to him, he said: "My Lord, let me look upon you." He said: "You will not see Me, but look upon the mountain, if it stays in its place then you will see Me." So when his Lord revealed Himself to the mountain, He caused it to crumble; thus Moses fell unconscious. When he awoke, he said: "Glory to You, I repent to You and I am the first of those who believe."
