Bir zamanlar Rabb'in meleklere: "Ben, yeryüzünde bir halife atayacağım." demişti de onlar şöyle konuşmuşlardı: "Orada bozgunculuk etmekte olan, kan döken birini mi atayacaksın? Oysaki bizler, seni hamd ile tespih ediyoruz; seni kutsayıp yüceltiyoruz." Allah şöyle dedi: "Şu bir gerçek ki ben, sizin bilmediklerinizi bilmekteyim."

Hani, senin Rabbin melaikeye "Ben yeryüzünde bir halife tayin edeceğim" dediği zaman da şöyle sormuşlardı: Yeryüzüne fesat çıkaran ve kan dökmekte olan birini mi atayacaksın; üstelik biz seni hamd ile tesbih ve takdis edip dururken?" (Allah) cevap verdi: "Şu kesin ki, ben sizin bilmediğiniz şeyleri de bilirim."

Recall that your Lord said to the angels, "I am placing a representative (a temporary god) on Earth." They said, "Will You place therein one who will spread evil therein and shed blood, while we sing Your praises, glorify You, and uphold Your absolute authority?" He said, "I know what you do not know."

And your Lord said to the angels: "I am placing a successor on the earth." They said: "Will You place in it he who would make corruption in it, and spill blood; while we praise by Your glory, and exalt to You?" He said: "I know what you do not know."

Your Lord said to the controllers, "I am placing a successor on earth." They said, "Would You place in it he who would corrupt it, and shed blood, while we sing Your glory, and praise You?" He said, "I know what you do not know."
