Hani, sana: "Rabbin, insanları çepeçevre kuşatmıştır." demiştik. Sana gösterdiğimiz o rüyayı da Kur'an'da lanetlenmiş bulunan o ağacı/soyu da insanları sınamak dışında bir sebeple göndermedik. Biz onları korkutuyoruz ama bu onların kudurganlığını artırmaktan başka bir katkı sağlamıyor.

Hani (Ey Muhammed), Biz sana demiştik ki: "(Tasalanma), senin rabbin insanları çepeçevre kuşatmıştır! Sana gösterdiğimiz o (malum) müşahedeyi ise, başka değil, insanlar için yalnızca bir imtihan aracı yaptık; tıpkı Kur'an'da geçen lanetlenmiş ağaçta olduğu gibi... İşte, onları (bu tür imtihanlarla) korkuratarak uyarıyoruz, ne var ki (bu) onların sadece küstahça azgınlaşıp böbürlenmelerini artırıyor!"

We informed you that your Lord fully controls the people, and we rendered the vision that we showed you a test for the people, and the tree that is accursed in the Quran. We showed them solid proofs to instill reverence in them, but this only augmented their defiance.,

And when We said to you: "Your Lord has encompassed the people." And We did not make the vision that We showed you except as a test for the people, and the tree that was cursed in the Qur'an. And We are making them fearful, but it only increases their transgression.
